Marisa Paredes, an icon of Spanish cinema, dies
Actress Marisa Paredes, one of the great names of Spanish cinema, has died at the age of 78. With a career spanning more than five decades, Paredes left an indelible mark on the film industry, being one of the muses of filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar and the star of iconic films such as The flower of my secret either High heels.
Recognized for her talent and elegance, Marisa Paredes became a benchmark for auteur cinema both in Spain and internationally. The actress had one daughter, María Asasi, from her relationship with director Antonio Isasi Isasmendi, who made Maria Paredes a grandmother three years ago.
Marisa Paredes' funeral chapel has been set up at the San Isidro funeral home, where family, friends and followers can pay tribute to her and say their final goodbyes.
